SECRET WHASTAPP TRICK.

 1.BEGONE, BLUE TICKS OF MISERY

2.jpg

We know how it is. You're at figure skating practice, your phone buzzes, and you glance down briefly before nailing a spectacular triple axel.

Clearly, you've not got time to respond immediately. But at the same time, you don't want the sender to realise that you've already looked at the message, lest they think you're ignoring them when you fail to reply for two more hours. That's the privilege the blue ticks take away.

Recently though, the chat app has realised the error of its ways and silently come up with a workaround. The liberty of message-mulling is ours again.

How: Users can just access Privacy via Settings and disable Read Receipts. There, now it's time to iron out the kinks in your friendships that the blue ticks have caused.

2.FIGURE OUT YOUR BFFS

3.jpg

What’s the difference between a casual acquaintance and a bezzie mate for life? How often you message them on WhatsApp, of course. If you’re not sure how to divvy up the members of your social circle, then why not check how often you’ve messaged them.

How: Head to Settings > Data and Storage Usage > Storage Usage and you’ll see a list of your most important groups and contacts ranked according to the data you’ve expended on their behalves. Ah, the romance of modern living.

3.SEE WHEN YOUR MESSAGES ARE READ

4.jpg

Think the double-blue ticks are the worst thing to happen to relationships since Tinder? Think again. Here's another way you could annoy your loved ones.

In addition to finding out the exact time your messages are delivered, you can also choose to see the exact time your message was read (assuming you choose to stick with the ticks).

How: Go to any of your WhatsApp chats, tap and hold on any of the messages you’ve sent in that chat, followed by the Info option. For iOS users, you can also drag towards the left to reveal a window which will show the time your message was delivered and subsequently read.

It works for group messages too, with the window listing the time each participant read the message.

4.HIDE YOUR PROFILE PIC

Batman. David Bowie. Pepe the Prawn. All people who have built their much-vaunted careers on an air of mystique and otherness. You can bet they’d have their WhatsApp profile pics set to private, instead of treating the world to a bedraggled photo of them and a bottle of Lambrini. So, as the saying goes, always be yourself unless you can be like Batman.

How: Head to Settings > Privacy > Profile Photo > Nobody.

5.MUTE GROUP CHATS

5.jpg

We’re all in at least a few group chats at any one time, created because someone (likely the group admin) was bored. People tend to get overzealous in chats, especially since WhatsApp allows group conversations of up to 50 participants. Who hasn’t woken up to the horror of 100+ unread messages fuelled by a night of boredom?

How: To prevent yourself from being woken up by the constant lighting up of your smartphone screen, you can (a) either flip your phone over and ignore it or (b) mute the offending group chat. Tap on the group chat of your choice, then the name to bring up Group Info where you will find the option to Mute the chat for eight hours to one week or a year. Alternatively, you can exit it altogether.

2.GET SHORTCUTS TO CONVERSATIONS

6.jpg

If there are certain people you chat to more often, it might be a good idea to create a shortcut for them directly on your homescreen, so you don’t have to keep opening and closing WhatsApp.

How: Tap and hold on the chat (group or individual) of your choice and a tab will pop up. Select the Add Conversation Shortcut option and the chat in question will appear as the person's profile photo on your mobile desktop. Unfortunately this only applies for Android users and not iPhone ones. Sorry guys.

CRAZY AMONG US TRICKS

#1. Fake it Till You Make it!

Be vicious but be smart about being vicious.

As an imposter, you are assigned fake tasks around the map. These will be in the same locations as the real tasks for crewmates. It’s the perfect opportunity for you as an imposter to blend in with the crewmates. Actually, you do not get to do anything with these fake “tasks”. However, knowing what these tasks are is a vital part of concealing your identity in the game. It makes all the difference.

As an imposter, it is very crucial to fake tasks the right way. It doesn’t take an Einstein to notice an imposter overdoing a fake task and getting caught. Trust me, I have caught and been caught but I learned fast and you would better too. If a task that takes 2-3 seconds is completed by you in about 5 seconds or more, you are a suspect or ‘sus’. Someone will figure it out. There are a few tasks that take 5-10 seconds to complete, and as an imposter, these should be your number one priority. Some of these tasks include:

  • Wire fixing Task
  • Downloading Task
  • Refueling Task

#2. Use the Vents the Right Way

Even if as an imposter you are caught venting by a crewmate, you must NEVER give up. It isn’t over yet. You have to kill them before they report you. Use the vents to find them and capture them before they can get back to the Cafeteria to call an emergency meeting. It’s a really simple trick.

As I said before, it doesn’t take an Einstein to be good at this. It doesn’t require wit. Maybe, just a wee bit. The game is very basic. Among Us tests your observation skills and memory, and that is what makes the game fun to play.

#3. Two Imposters are Better than One

Although I have deceived a fellow imposter in the past to get away with the murder of an innocent crewmate (and I am not sorry) and I have been deceived by a fellow imposter (what goes around comes around), I have come to realize teaming up with your fellow imposter is WAY more convenient. And sometimes even fun. If you stick together, you can even back each other up in an emergency meeting and tell the crewmates you both are safe to stick around.

You can even direct the blame at an innocent crewmate i.e

Yellow has been following me. Yellow is sus!

People get triggered and would want to vote yellow out whether yellow is a ‘sus’ or not.

What’s even better, vouch for one of the crewmates you have been fake tasking around. Earn their trust before you stab them in the back.

However, never overdo it. Be very subtle. When you accuse a crewmate of being an imposter, and they deny and provide evidence with one of the visual tasks, make an apology. Tell them you felt threatened because they were following you around.

Evil Tip – I wouldn’t insist on it but if you are more of a lone wolf and go solo, and you want to sus your fellow imposter out, there’s the right way of ‘sussing’ him out. Wait for someone else to plant the suspicion. Never initiate it yourself, lest they sus you out too. The best part, sussing your fellow imposter out will also earn you the trust of the crewmates, only to kill them later. And they will never see it coming.

#4. Kill the Person on the Cams First!

Again, jog that memory hard! There are certain rooms i.e Administration and Security which give the crewmates leverage over the imposters. Security has cams. Admin lets you view players spread out across the map. Kill the person on cams, because they will likely sus you out. Therefore, chances are one or two of the crewmates are keeping watch in the security room. If it’s a group, use good sabotage to disunite them. Never vent straight to the security. Use the door. Or use the sabotage to lock the security before you vent to kill the person on cameras.

Under the right circumstances, you can opt for a stack kill.

Next, kill the annoyingly sharp person. The one keeping a tab on everyone’s tasks or moves. You either sus them out or kill them if you manage to keep your identity hidden for long enough.

Tip – Once again, if you remember which areas are covered by the cams in security, you can avoid killing in those areas.

#5. Sabotage with Subtlety

As an imposter, you have a handful of map-wide diversions, called sabotages, at your discretion. It’s to throw off the crewmates’ focus from the original tasks and help plan a perfect kill. For instance, you can switch off the lights, narrowing the vision of crewmates to what is directly in front of them, forming a dark haze over everything else. Use this to your advantage.

Sabotage can be the cornerstone of subtly pulling off smooth kills. It is imperative to learn what each sabotage does, however.

Each sabotage leads the crewmates to a specific location on the map, so you need to be extremely cautious as to where it leads them.

For instance, activating the seismic stabilizer sabotage in the Polus snow map would take a crewmate to the two northern corners of the map to deactivate the countdown. This would help draw focus away from the lower end of the map, which may be beneficial if in those places you are planning a kill.

Shutting down coms impairs player task lists, so while they scramble to get coms back on and get back to tasks, it can be helpful in dividing the overall community.

#6. Take the Lead

Taking the lead is an excellent way to ensure victory in Among Us as an Impostor. Don’t let the crewmates run the football in large groups by going around. Keep on sabotaging various rooms and separating them, keeping them at opposite ends of the ship as much as possible. Go with someone who is alone when it is possible. Make absolutely sure no one is around and go for the kill only if you enter a space that also has a vent. After you have done the deed, sneak off to the vent, then, and vent out to another spot.
